- The Gen3 Zehus Horizon E-Leonardo conceals a sophisticated "parallel hybrid" system within the clean geometry of a classic titanium commuter, effectively hiding its electric nature by packaging the motor, battery, and sensors entirely inside a compact 3kg rear hub. While the build features a corrosion-resistant titanium frame and grease-free Gates Carbon Belt Drive, the core technology is the Zehus Horizon’s proprietary 40Nm powertrain, which utilises slope sensors to provide torque on climbs while imperceptibly siphoning energy on flats to recharge its 200Wh internal battery. This "Bike+" algorithm allows for potentially infinite range without wall charging, further supported by a regenerative KERS braking system activated simply by back-pedaling. For riders facing extremely severe gradients, the optional Schlumpf Mountain Drive adds a planetary gearbox inside the bottom bracket, allowing you to heel-shift into a 1:2.5 reduction gear to multiply pedal force without cluttering the handlebars with shifters or cables.
