A focused, utilitarian tool for the modern city. The GEN3.ZEHUS BROMPTON-G.LINE offers the requisite power for the incline, the stability for the rougher road, and the discretion of a non-electric bicycle.
This build represents a precise convergence of two engineering philosophies: the robust, all-road capability of the new Brompton G Line and the minimalist integration of the Zehus Gen 3 electric hub.
By replacing the standard rear wheel with the Zehus All-in-One system, the G Line is transformed into a capable electric folding bicycle without the need for external battery packs, handlebar displays, or unsightly wiring harnesses. The result is a machine that retains the definitive 20-inch wheel stability and hydraulic stopping power of the G Line, while offering intelligent, frictionless assistance for the urban commute.
At the core of this conversion is the Italian-engineered Zehus Gen 3 hub. It houses the motor, the new 200Wh battery, electronics, and sensors within a singular, sealed aluminium case.
• The system allows for regenerative braking. By simply back-pedalling, the rider can scrub speed while recharging the internal battery, effectively extending the functional range.
The hub connects via Bluetooth to the proprietary smartphone app, allowing for customisable power modes, system locking, and diagnostics. However, the bike remains fully operational without the phone, utilising internal slope sensors to assist intuitively.
As all components are hub-bound, the Brompton’s complex folding mechanism is entirely unhindered by cables or external connectors.
The G Line frame architecture offers a substantial departure from the classic 16-inch Brompton.
20-Inch Wheelset: The larger diameter wheels provide improved rolling momentum and stability on uneven surfaces, from cobbled mews to gravel towpaths.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes: Fitted with TRP hydraulic calipers, the G Line ensures consistent braking performance in wet conditions—essential for year-round London riding.
The Fold: Despite the increased wheel size and electric capability, the bicycle folds into a self-supporting package that remains easily transportable on trains or stored under a desk.
This build is configured as a 1 or 2-speed drivetrain, optimising the bicycle for low maintenance and direct power transfer. The removal of the heavy internal gear hub (standard on factory G Lines) in favour of the Zehus system results in a lighter, more balanced ride feel.

Precision‑engineered drivetrain solution designed for riders who demand both simplicity and performance. At its heart lies an ultra‑thin (just 10 mm) planetary gearbox that neatly integrates with your chainring, with no bulky mechanisms, no extra cables or derailleurs.
Shifting is ingeniously simple: a gentle heel tap on the side button lets you engage the alternative ratio, either a 1 : 1.65 overdrive in the Speed‑Drive version for higher speeds.
Built with premium materials and designed to take full torque in both pedalling directions, it’s equally compatible with fixed‑gear and coaster‑brake setups. This compact, low‑maintenance gearbox gives you a minimalist look with maximised versatility.
